Okay, so we’re a little addicted Sibling, a men’s knitwear brand hailing from the UK that is collaboratively curated by Joe Bates, Sid Bryan and Cozette McCreery. Besides having individual honed their craft working for some of our faves like McQueen, Lanvin, Galliano and Bella Freud, as a collective, they are bringing fresh style winds to the trade that most streetwear kids would undoubtedly call, trill. And they’re totally of the culture! Can you remember which member of OFWGKTA first wore a Sibling Panda? Their wears have covered books (see Doppelganger published by Gestalen), are featured in museums (their Knitted Skull and matching Skeleton leggings from Collection 2 are a part of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC) and the list goes on.
Boasting bright, obnoxious colors, and cheeky, edgy designs that are equally strong and über original, the designers at Sibling understand that now is the time for menswear. Rock anything from their previous six collections—literally, everything they’ve produced since their inception back in 2008 is sick. As if their story couldn’t get any better, now four years since their debut, Sibling is just a few days shy from the forthcoming unveiling of their affectionately-called women’s Sister. Three words: We Love It. Inspired by summer fun (think street fairs, carnivals, bonfires and the like), Sister is funky, style-driven and banks on being playful with the right level of “cute” women love but haven’t seen in eons (fashion is such serious work these days, isn’t it?). Cult illustrator and animator Yuko Kondo lends his handiwork to the twisted Tattoo and Skeleton Carousel designs as well as the appearance of Dachshund-in-a-bun I ♥ Hot Dog graphic. Peep the preview up above and don’t hesitate to shop at their online store when it becomes available. Our guess is this first run is going to go fast.
