KARL: Lagerfeld X Net-a-Porter

“Karl Lagerfeld and Net-a-Porter are set to launch, “KARL”, a new line by the designer to be sold exclusively online starting January 25th.

Beloved designer Karl Lagerfeld has teamed up with online fashion retailer Net-a-Porter to launch the highly-anticipated, affordably-priced line, “Karl”, “which is truly making fashion and technology history,” Lagerfeld says. As the first designer brand to be sold exclusively online, The “Karl” collection will feature Lagerfeld staples like its predominantly black and white color palette, tuxedo jackets, leather collars and fingerless gloves, in addition to over 70 different pieces (read: draped jersey dresses, classic pants, sweatshirts, skirts, tops, tees and accessories) that will range in price from $50-500. Expect “Karl” to infuse Lagerfeld’s chic approach with a touch of Rock’N’Roll edge; perfect for the younger, savvy consumer who doesn’t want to pay the hefty price tags that often come paired with KL’s Chanel styles.

If you can’t wait until January 25th, when the full collection will be on view and available at Net-a-Porter.com, take a gander at the “Karl” Mobile app for exclusive previews and the tilt maze game that allows you to speedily hunt for Karl—the designer, not the collection. Be sure to score high, as top scorers have an opportunity to possibly win a $1,000 Net-a-Porter shopping spree (so you can buy more “Karl” of course). You can also “Karlify” yourself (read: become a Karl Lagerfeld clone) using the app by simply taking a photo of yourself, which is then instantly transformed, complete with dark glasses and the long white ponytail. Special unveilings will be held in NY, Paris, London, Sydney and Berlin to celebrate the launch of Karl Lagerfeld’s “Karl” on January 25, 2012, the same day it becomes exclusively available for online purchase on Net-A-Porter.com. The collection will also later become available in February on KarlLagerfeld.com.
