KENZO: S/S 2012 Mens & Womens

Kenzo is back (!) with inspiring new looks for Spring/Summer 2012 that embody winning, cutting-edge (but not trendy) style for men and women of the future.

The masters are at work at Kenzo these days and spring 2012 looks pretty amazing for both men and women’s collections. The menswear line helmed by former Creative Director Antonio Marras since 2008 (after he held the post of artistic director of the ready-to-wear and accessories divisions at Kenzo for many years), hit the runway this past June, the last for Marras as Creative Director, which features vacationer styled sets and suits in bright blues, yellows, greens, mild pinks and taupe, and faded denim. Think Hawaii Five-0 meets The Thomas Crown Affair (the Steve McQueen version) and you’re ready to rock.

But of course, every brand needs fresh blood to reinvigorate its mission and artistic imprint. Just recently a few weeks ago in Paris, the womenswear collection graced the catwalk, and thanks to designers and new Kenzo Creative Directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon (of Opening Ceremony) who succeed Marras, Kenzo is set to take new creative heights.

Just as the design duo and fashion boutique owners have done with their previous collabs (Tretorn, Nike, American-made Red Wing shoe, POSTALCO, Stetson) and continue to do with the few creative partnerships that remain (Rodarte, Maison Martin Margiela and Levi’s), with Kenzo the Spring Summer 2012 collection for women is imaginative, innovative, bold and quite charming. And no Opening Ceremony show or project is complete without actress/gal pal and muse Chloë Sevigny in tow, who closed the show….We’re already looking forward to seeing what’s next.
